Home. This one word can give us so much comfort.
Life is stressful. We have to wake up (first struggle of every day), make money to pay our bills, make sure our families are cared for, work out, eat healthy, and squuuueeeeeeezzzze in some time for ourselves in our hectic schedules. Just typing that run on sentence made me exhausted.
This has definetly been a struggle for me the last couple years as I have got Living Doors running. Not only have I been working on getting my procedures down, but I want to stand out. I Living Doors to be one kind of a place.
This last weekend my parents were out of the country. Kind of angry with them. As they were laying on a beach in the Caribean, all of us back in Nebraska were preparing for SNOW! While they were gone I had to drive out to their place to feed their animals everyday. They have 6 outdoor farm cats and 1 dog, named Bey (short for Bethoven, original name I know. My brother and I were clever when we were younger). Below are some pictures of Bey for your enjoyment, I believe he is going on 13 years old.
One of the days while I was driving out to my childhood home, I felt a sense of calm. Now I feel relaxed when I am at my own home right now, but not like this. There is a sense of being free that comes with being back in a place that molded and shaped you. Where you had no worries in the world (or any bills to pay). I get the feeling again of having all these dreams for my life and nothing is going to stop me to get where I want to be.
I want to challenge you, when life gets rough - think of that place. That place that brings you freedom and makes you forget about everything but YOU. It is important to remember where we came from and appreciate our lives.
